A Powerful Weekend at Bicycle, Blues & BBQ

USA Cycling Officials and event organizers play a important role.

┬áMuch thanks to the riders, teams, junior riders, volunteers, fans, sponsors and organizers for this weekend’s Bicycle Blues and BBQ. Everyone played a role in creating a fun atmosphere for families and high energy excitement for the pro-races. There were two nights of music & food to warm-up fans for a weekend of racing and riding. In addition to the criterium, time-trial, road race and awards ceremony there were three tour-rides, a family ride and kids races. It’s easy to see that the BBBBQ Festival is a model event for the two year old Midwest Flyover Omnium Race Series. Riders and fans are quick to point out that the weekend was well run and that the organizers succeeded in delivering a premier event to Clear Lake and North Iowa. Tim Putnam and his team have done a solid job of organizing the weekend, so that it will grow, as Midwest Flyover Omnium scales up to capture more national interest. We can all look forward to more good things, in years to come.
